Road trip to Toowomba...

It's summer holiday and of coz I did like to do something exceptional this summer since it's my first summer in australia. Travelling?? I love to travel but I am currently broke. Work?? I did love to but who wants to hire me.. To work as a waitress, we will have to attend RSA course which cost 60 dollars.. Cleaner?? U need experience as a cleaner and it's really a competitive part time job. Lucky for me, I got a job as a sales representitive where I can travel and meet lots of people from around the world. It's an outdoor job and hell ya.. I complain about my job everyday. One thing that keeps me moving everyday was my teammates. =)

They are the most awesome people i met this holiday! After a few months rushing university assignments and meeting deadline, finally I got to meet people who doesn't talk about assignments, test and those serious shit stuff. The great thing about this job: I got to travel for free! ^^ My team was on a road trip to Toowomba last week. We weren't in a big city or a big town. We were at places like this :

yeap... australia outback!!
and guess what!? this is where i met the first MR or MRS wild kangaroo! =)

love this horse..
sheeps who stop and stare at me and wonders why m I walking with 2 legs instead of 4..

My daily lunch.. I miss char guew teow and roti telur... =(

Frankly speaking, I wasn't good at sales.. =( But I really enjoyed myself because I met new people who comes from different background... EVERYDAY~~

Stradbroke island

Here's one amazing budget 5 people trip. Stradbroke island is just a 2 hours trip from Brisbane city. It's a beautiful island where u might get a chance to have a glance of giant whale swimming at the far end. of coz.. speaking of whale who doesn't get excited right? Besides that, I couldn't wait to head to the beach and have a dip.As usual, in order to save some transportation fee, we brought along our bikes BUT WARNING it wasn't a wise choice....

This is the first reason why cycling is not a good option. Jack's brand new secondhand bike went across pieces of glass bottle and there he goes... a flat tyre with a sad face...

After catching a 45 minutes train from Roma street to Cleveland, we are about to board Stradbroke flyer gold cats.. It's s ship made out of gold with alot of cats on board.. haha XD that was a description from my dictionary. It's 15 dollar student price return ferry ticket to get to stradbroke island. See... special discounts and privilages are always given to student in australia..

Stopping by the road at Stradbroke Island to catch a breath.. It wasn't a good idea to cycle around the island.. It was as though I was cycling on a highway with lots of hills.. It took us freaking 2 hours before we see this signboard:

finally ~~~ T..T

It was late at night when we reach amitiy point.. After grabbing some dinner, we were desperate for a bed.. I was exhausted and craving for a hot bath.. and how lucky were we to knock on a stranger door and found out that she was the person in charge for the caravan. She was about to get to bed. People on stradbroke island are the kindest australian i had ever met.. We actually came to know this caravan while we were having our dinner and a stranger came by and told us about this caravan and it cost 28 dollar per person for an airconditioner room per night!

I got the biggest bed!! muahahahah XD

Morning view at amity point :
Day 2 : another 2 and the half hours of cycling trip from amity point to point look out. Point lookout has the best island view.

This is another reason why cycling around the island wasn't the best choice.. =( ouch..

After up and down hills, 2 hour and the half hours of sunburn... look at the view!!! It's AWESOME!! Too bad we did not manage to see any whales at the far end because it was DECEMBER.. Apparently, july to november was suppose to be the best time to spot them. =(

selfish shellfish collector are only allowed to bring home a total of 50 seashells..

Having a quick bath by the river..

Although we didn't manage to catch a glimpse of any whale but I did enjoy the sunset.. It's a perfect place for couple =)

Total cycled distance : 48km
Total cost used in this trip : 48 dollars
Public transport are easily available on the island.. I will definitely head back there some day without my bike~~ It was a tiring trip.. =)

Mid term holidays...

Sunday marks the end of this mid term break and guess what, I had not done much revision which I suppose to do so this holiday =( that's a bad news for me and as for the good news, I had enough sleep throughout the mid term break and kinda enjoy myself a little before out finals which will falls in 5 weeks time.

It's Halloween day! Happy belated halloween =D I was sick on that day and I almost missed out Halloween if it's not for dear joyce who had pestered me to join her at club candy =D Clubbing isn't one of my favourite but it's really an eye opener for me . The decoration and the music is one of the best u can find in Brisbane. Pictures stolen from zhi :

It's been long time since I tried on some new outdoor stuff. Rock climbing is something I would love to try. We headed to Fortitude valley for some indoor rock climbing. Its an indoor climbing centers named rocksports if you are interested. It is really suitable for noobs like me XD .
We have to put on some hideous looking " underwear" for safety precautions AND.....

it HURTS when you are hanging like that..
I only manage to complete the easy level aka noob level.. XD this is me trying hard to get climb up this 45 degree slope...

we are just too excited with the hideous hot underwear =D

SELAMAT HARI RAYA~~ In Malaysia, our dear Najib will have an open house and there's lots of food for everyone... Here... UQ MSA and MASCA want us to have the homely Malaysia feeling. and therefore... they came out with raya open house at uQ lake too.. The food is for~~ FREE~~~!!! If u are smart enough, you might figure out where on earth an organisation have that amount of money to give out free food ><
me and satay in charge person Tim ... I just cant stop staring at his shiny songkok....

After the lunch, I took a short walk at UQ lake ot grab some photos... I just love the trees and the lake :

Here comes spring.... spring is just simply beautiful ,everywhere u go, u just want to stop and stare at the flowers... BUT.....

As the saying goes in Australia... Whenever the flower blooms, it is time to get serious and study because finals is just a few weeks away =)
